Novaliss is proud to share one of our most exciting projects—creating unique stage costumes for the band Tautumeitas, who will represent Latvia at Eurovision. This collaboration was a true artistic journey, blending mythology, craftsmanship, and the essence of the band’s identity into stunning designs.
The concept, developed in collaboration with stylist Violeta Rulle, was inspired by mythical creatures from the underwater world. We envisioned Tautumeitas as mermaids, sirens, and good witches—powerful, mystical beings that embody both grace and strength. Our goal was to merge these elements with the band’s DNA, creating costumes that reflect their warmth and authenticity while enhancing their presence on stage.
To bring this vision to life, we incorporated three key design elements: delicate organza fins, our signature draping technique, and transparent details with crystal embellishments to mimic the shimmer of water. Over 4,000 crystals—both quartz and Swarovski—were carefully placed to add a magical sparkle under the stage lights at the Supernova qualifying final.
Each costume is a unique piece of wearable art, designed to flow seamlessly with movement, evoking the fluidity of water. The look was completed with specially designed crowns by Violeta Rulle, featuring fins and scale-like details instead of traditional headpieces, further reinforcing the underwater theme.
This ambitious project was completed in just three intense weeks. Materials sourced in Spain were brought to Latvia, where we transformed fabric into stunning, one-of-a-kind garments. The final designs celebrate both the individuality of each band member and their unity as a group, ensuring that Tautumeitas shines as they take the Eurovision stage.
At Novaliss, we believe in pushing creative boundaries and bringing imaginative concepts to life. Stay tuned for more exciting projects as we continue to blend art and fashion in extraordinary ways!
